Audit Services
Audits are a critical component of the project and program management process to ensure success and adhearance to business objectives.
The process by which a VMC project management audit is conducted consists of the following steps, which are well documented to ensure repeatability and consistency across projects and programs:
- Audit announcement
- Documentation requests (standard project management planning documentation)
- Document Assessment
- Field work
- Audit Report
- Final report (including management’s response)
- Closing conference
The key VMC Consulting deliverable in an audit is the closing conference, which allows participants to discuss the most important findings of the audit, and next steps. For each finding in the report, a responsible party is assigned so that they can create an action plan. The plan proposes time-bound corrective and preventive actions to address any weakness identified by the audit. The audit team then assesses the action plan and proposed implementation. The response and action plan are issued as a final report to the key project stakeholders with clear guidelines for next steps.
CAPA Services
At VMC we found CAPA (Corrective Action Preventative Action) to be most effective in resolving quality and performance issues within service centric processes and procedures. Our implementation of CAPA is based upon industry best practices and strongly incorporates Six Sigma methods and tools. Incorporating PMI based methodology ensures our CAPA initiatives and activities to be embedded within a sound project management approach. CAPA is a flexible process composed of a combination of predefined steps (CAPA Workflows).
The predefined Steps of a CAPA workflow include:
- Containment (immediate actions)
- Correction (disposition of non-conforming product/service)
- Investigation (of deep root causes)
- Implementation (definition and implementation of CAPA solutions)
- Effectivity Review (periodic reviews of CAPA plan effectivity)
VMC developed a proprietary roadmap for leading CAPA processes for our clients. Our CAPA workflow process ensures that each element of an issue is examined in a formulaic, proven method to ensure repeatability and effective root cause analysis. CAPA procedures help save our clients time and money in remedying quality and performance issues.
